Beau Desert Golf Club

Beau Desert - “Beautiful Wilderness" - bordering Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, is a classic Midlands course created by land owner the Marquess of Anglesey and completed by architect Herbert Fowler in 1913. It has developed into a magnificent heathland course. Each hole is tree lined and features gorse,heather, bracken and fern surrounding the fairways that are bordered by acres of firs and spruces. It measures just 6,300 yards but accuracy is at a premium and a feature of the large greens are the tricky borrows. The club has regularly staged regional qualifying rounds for The Open. The maturity of the course offers a perceived privacy as the varied holes are shrouded by trees and offers a welcome isolation.
