Formby Golf Club

Formby has developed over the years in to a truly great links. The original 18 hole course was redesigned by Willie Park and James Braid also had a hand in more changes in the 1920s while minor changes were introduced by Hawtree and Taylor in 1933, but the latest major change took place in the early 1970s when the realised they were losing yards of shoreline near the eighth and ninth greens. New holes at seven, eight and nine were designed by Donald Steel and a new tee turned the 10th into a short hole. New back tees extended the course to 6,993 yards and brought back into play many of the original bunkers. A truly great course.

Parties of more than 90 can request exclusive use of the Dining Room. There are two bars on the ground floor of the clubhouse, one mixed and one members only. Both bars provide a wide range of refreshments, light snacks and sandwiches. Local Directions:	From the Motorway Network at the junction of the M57 take the signposts to Formby.On the A565 from Liverpool direction turn left at the 2nd roundabout (with the BP station) towards Formby.Follow the signs to Formby Point and Freshfield Station. Cross over the railway line and turn right into Golf Road. The Club is straight ahead.
