Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club

One of the classic links, once on the Open rota, the wind plays its role and, on a fierce day, the tough back nine into the elements make it a frightening experience. The opening holes provide the best scoring chances but avoid the massive bunkers to maintain a good score. Daunting tee-shots, firm and fast roller-coaster greens, uphill, downhill and sidehill lies on the undulating fairways and deep rough provide the stiffest possible test. The 505-yard 16th is rated the best hole. After a long drive to clear the cross bunker, the choice is to risk hitting the small elevated green or play safe along the flat fairway. A quality course of 6,761 yards, par 72, with only three par threes for respite.

Visitors Info: All visitors are welcome to the Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club and will be treated as temporary members both on the course and in the Clubhouse. All players should have a current handicap certificate which should be presented to the Pro's shop upon arrival and which should be available for inspection by the Course Ranger or Secretary. Societies Info: R.C.P.G.C. welcomes visitors and visiting societies, corporate days and charity days during the week but particularly on Tuesdayds and Thursdays. Wednesdays are reserved for the ladies and other members, however, small groups can be accommodated in the afternoon. The R.C.P.G.C. is a two ball course on every day of the week except Tuesday and Thursday after 10:00 when three or four balls are permitted. The catering department is open 08:00 until 16:30. Please pre-book should full breakfast be required. Evening dinner can also be pre-booked for any days of the week.
