Prince's Golf Club

Gene Sarazen won the Open in 1932 at Princes offering spectacular links golf in the Kent links belt with panoramic views across the course and Pegwell Bay dating from 1906. Operated as three nines, linked by a clubhouse constructed in 1995. The Himalayas is rated the easiest provided the ball is kept on the fairway and out of the frightening bunkers. The Shore and the Dunes that intertwine over the sandy soil are the toughest. There is almost no protection from the sea breezes and brutal weather can play havoc. The greens are true and fast. The design of the holes provides a good test. Some strong par fours of more than 400 yards, a collection of interesting par threes blend with par fives short enough to offer birdie chances.
