St Andrews (Jubilee)

The Jubilee opened in 1897 to celebrate Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee, is set on a sliver of land between the New Course and the sea. Has all the exacting and dramatic characteristics of the other St Andrews links, going out alongside the Eden Estuary to the left and back with the first view of the town from the tenth tee. Elevated tees allow perfect vision of the gorse, pot bunkers and some narrow landing targets. A 6,742-yard par four, regarded as one of the toughest tests. Beware the 162-yard fifth with gorse to the left, two bunkers to the right of the left-to-right sloping green and hidden bunker beyond. The fourth and 14th share the same large green. A great test.
