Close to St Andrews, the ‘Home of Golf', Lundin Golf Club is renowned for the quality of its course. With a history dating back to 1868, the original Tom Morris course was redesigned in 1909, by Open Champion, James Braid.
What style is the course at Lundin Golf Club?
Designed by Tom Morris and later, James Braid, Lundin Links is one of Scotland's best courses. Once a qualifying course for The Open Championship, whenever it was held in St. Andrews, Lundin's stunning greens and challenging par 4s are well known.
This is a testing links course, with an out of bounds, strategic bunkering and open burns. Players need to think through their game, as well as show technical skills, in order to yield a great score. The standard scratch score is 71.
What is the feature hole?
The 14th hole is called ‘Perfection' and it's a downhill 175 yard, par 3. From this hole, there are views across the entire golf course, and beyond to the Firth of Forth.
What sort of course features can the player expect?
Challenges come in terms of strategy as well as technique, with an internal out of bounds, open burns and tricky bunkers.
Excellent links fairways and superb greens make this a regular qualifying course for the Open Championship.
