North Berwick dominates the town, stretching above the beach on the Firth of Forth offering exquisite sea views across to Craigleith Island and Bass Rock. The 13th oldest golf club and the second oldest course in the world still playing over its original grounds, since 1832. Not long or wide, it spans 6,400 yards but requires a complete range of shots to tackle cavernous bunkers, stone walls, burns, mounds and valleys that make a classic links. Blind shots, some over the beach, add to the quirky nature of a famous course that features three holes in a definitive version of golf’s greatest 500 holes – the 7th, 9th plus the 15th, a 190-yard par three to a plateau, well-bunkered green. As the rough is deliberately trimmed short, the pace of play is refreshingly rapid.

Date Founded: 1832 Catering: North Berwick Golf Club provides a full catering service which can be tailored to meet its visitors' needs. An all-day snack menu is available from the Lounge, and more formal facilities are available in the Dining Room. Special requests can always be catered for. However, you are politely requested to contact the club in advance to discuss your requirements. If you would like to contact our Catering Manager please telephone 01620 894766 or send an email to catering@northberwickgolfclub.com. The lounge offers a fully licensed bar, and a bar snack menu to suit all appetites is available every day between 10:00am and 6:00pm. An extended Bistro style menu is available on Friday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The dining room provides both informal and fine-dining. There is a three course menu available, a comprehensive wine list and full waitress service. Tables may be reserved by contacting the Clubhouse. Lunch is served 12:00 to 2:30pm (Mon - Fri) and 12:00 to 3:00pm on Sundays. High Teas are served from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Dinner is available from 7:00pm to 8:30pm by prior arrangement.
