Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club
Dalmahoy, a James Braid design in the 1920s adjacent to an 18th century manor house, now a Marriott hotel, boasts an East and West course in a parkland and moorland setting of1,000 acres. The East, 6,800 yards par 73, hosted the Solheim Cup won for the first time by Europe in 1992. The par-three 17th guarded by five large bunkers is a feature while the last demands a second shot across a gorge. The course has been given a £1 million makeover adding to the length with fairway bunkers presenting extra hazards. The West is less popular but contains a number of good holes and the 36-hole complex is one of Scotland’s premier golf resorts.
