Some favour the 6,139-yard par 72 Red course that has six par threes, six fours and six fives, but the entire 36-hole complex at The Berkshire is a joy offering great variety where accuracy is rewarded. Set deep in the Bracknell Forest the courses offer breathtaking challenges with long carries over thick gorse, unforgiving heather and deep rough alongside the springy, wide fairways. The quality of the greens are a feature. Most holes are tree-lined so there is very little margin for error from wayward shots. Perhaps the par threes are the most memorable, especially the 188-yard tenth with its cavernous drop to the right and the idyllic 205-yard 16th.
