Western Gailes Golf Club
Western Gailes is unusual layout in that the clubhouse is centrally located. The first four holes head north, the next nine holes head straight back along the coastline passing the clubhouse and the closing five holes head north again along the railway line. The fairways undulate and there are three meandering burns which also protect several greens including 10, 13 and 16 while others, like the sixth, are in hollows guarded by dunes. The sixth is considered by many to be best on the course at 498 yards but the 14th is a wonderful par five and at 7,014 yards from the back tees, it's a fine test.

May - September: Saturdays twilight golf £100. Visitors Info: Visitors times are available to be pre-booked as follows: Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 14:00 - 16:30, Sunday: 14:00 - 15:30. Handicap, all golfers are welcome. All visitors are expected to wear suitable golfing attire on the course. Golf wear is allowed within most areas of the Clubhouse, apart from the Main Lounge. Tailored shorts worn with knee length socks are permitted. Mobile phones may be used in the car park, but not on the course or in any part of the Clubhouse. Societies Info: Please contact reservations team. Date Founded: 1897 Designed by: 1st green keeper - Mr Morris Catering: full lunch is available in the dining room every day, except Sundays. A comprehensive snack menu is available at all times. Lunch is included in the green fee, apart from Sunday. Breakfast, High Tea or Dinner is also available by prior arrangement with the Reservations team. Food is not available on Saturdays.
