Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club

Kilmarnock (Barassie) founded in 1887, has been extended to 27 holes, the new nine known as the Hillhouse blend in perfectly. A par 72 Open qualifying course of 6,817 yards from the back is now a stringent test requiring a full range of shots. An impressive links with blind shots, lightning greens, mounds, heather, hillocks and hollows. Some outstanding holes but there are unusually extensive walks between some greens and tees although the terrain is flat. A burn features on the 2nd, 3rd and 13th holes. Deep bunkers with large undulating greens and doglegs, a good variety of holes offers a Scottish links at its best.

A strictly limited number of tee times are available on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday (April to September). Bookings for play should be made with the Club Secretary - golf@kbgc.co.uk - who will arrange and allocate Starting Times, which must be strictly adhered to. Visitors will be required to play from the "Yellow Tee Markers" at all times. T IS EMPHASISED THAT TRAINING SHOES, SPORTS FOOTWEAR AND "JEANS" WHETHER DENIM OR COTTON OR ANY OTHER FORM OF DENIM CLOTHING ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE WEAR EITHER IN THE CLUBHOUSE OR ON THE COURSE Golf shoes are NOT permitted to be worn in the public areas of the clubhouse.
