Murcar Links Golf Club
Murcar Links has undergone alterations recently which has stretched the layout to 6,560 yards. Originally designed by Archie Simpson and revised by James Braid, it is located on a classic stretch of links land with massive sand dunes, undulating fairways, and is covered in whins and heather with some magnificent views across the North Sea. There can be some wicked bounces off the crumpled fairways and there are burns and the odd blind shot to contend with. The signature hole is considered to be the seventh - a 423 yard par four which is ominously called Serpentine. From a high tee, the drive is over a twisting burn with a ravine on the right and heavy rough on the left with towering dunes everywhere.
