Three acres of spacious and peaceful gardens in a historic rural setting, beautifully revived and extended in the last few years. Mature trees surround a variety of planting and water features:- woodland walks underplanted with bulbs leading to the tidal River Chelmer, a cottage garden, an extensive formal garden filled with David Austin roses, a young orchard, wild flower meadow, soft fruit and vegetable beds, a wisteria walk, and stunning 85 yard long mixed herbaceous borders. Specimen trees include Magnolia, Tulip, Medlar and Indian Bean. The extensive lawn has the scenic backdrop of the remains of a 12th century abbey incorporated into a mainly 17th century private residence (not open to garden visitors).

Child Friendly:  Children of all ages welcome (All children to be supervised due to deep water.)

Location: Leaving Maldon via London Road take the first right after the cemetery (on left) into Abbey Turning, and follow this lane straight ahead, down to the private drive on the right.
Facilities: Toilets, Groups by appointment, Level gravel paths give access to most of the grounds, a gentle slope down to the river, Shop, Plants & Produce for Sale, Refreshments, Free Parking, Coaches by appointment. If coach travel is being contemplated please consult first due to narrow lanes.
