Powis Castle & Garden

Powis Castle´s Garden is laid out under the influence of Italian and French styles. The garden retains its original lead statues, a sunken orangery, hanging gardens and an aviary on a series of spectacularly planted terraces. The fullness and sense of colour here are terrific. In the 18th century an informal woodland wilderness was created on the opposing ridge with fine views over the Severn Valley. On the valley floor are geometric formal gardens of fruit trees and bedding.
