Cae Hir Gardens
A Welsh Garden with a Dutch History, Cae Hir Gardens were created by Wil Akkermans whos family tradition of over 200 years of Dutch horticulture has culminated in the creation of this eco-friendly and unique 6 acre garden created from four old meadows. An uplifting experience indeed. Features include a bonsai garden, cactus collection, bog garden, stream, herbaceous plants, stonework and ponds, some of which are natural. Wil Akkermans retired in 2009 but can still be seen most days either reading or weeding in the garden, which is now maintained by his son Stuart. The tea room is run by his daughter Julie. A true family business where you are guaranteed the warmest of welcomes.
