Veddw is a private garden open to the public and therefore non-institutional and idiosyncratic. It is owned by Anne Wareham, and Charles Hawes.(Anne is the author of 'The Bad Tempered Gardener', Charles the photographer, see http://veddw.com/bad-tempered-gardener/)
The design of the garden includes references to the local landscape and history, but the over-riding concern has been aesthetic.
There are two acres of ornamental gardens, containing an ancient meadow and grasslands, flower borders and gardens enclosed in yew hedges, topiary,a black reflecting pool,a hedge garden, rambler roses,a small hillside planted with a parterre of ornamental grasses and two acres of woodlands.
