Castle Kennedy and Gardens

At Castle Kennedy, spring finds snowdrops and daffodils throughout the gardens together with magnolias. The large leaved rhododendrons are in flower, pieris and yellow azaleas are starting to flower and scent the air. The gardens contains many hybrid rhododendrons including a colossal `Cynthia´. The walled garden is in full colour from July through to September and is an important feature of the gardens. A colourful woodland garden originally laid out between two large natural lochs and around the ruined castle in the early 18th century, has fine trees, rhododendrons and all the spring flower colour you could want, plus a two-acre lily pond. There is a charming tea room serving delicious cakes and light meals, a gift shop, plant centre and seasonal children´s activities.
