The Castle Howard gardens and park are breathtaking throughout the seasons and, with many diverse areas to explore, you can find peace and tranquillity whichever path they choose. Enjoy extensive walks through woodlands, formal gardens, along terraces or beside water, and view the buildings and sculptures in the landscape. The unique collection of old roses, rhododendrons, magnolias and azaleas, the Walled Garden and Ray Wood replanted with over 2 tonnes of daffodil bulbs, will impress keen horticulturists and amateurs alike. In the Boar Garden two and a half tonnes of daffodils and 10,000 small spring bulbs are planted to provide a variety of colour for early March.

Castle Howard Gardens is part of the following Editors' Picks:
Ten Famous TV and Film Gardens by Veronica Peerless
"Castle Howard is said to have inspired Evelyn Waugh’s novel, Brideshead Revisited, and it featured both in the 1981 TV adaptation and the 2008 film. The grounds are used extensively in the film: the characters sweep down the drive in open top cars, spend time drinking and chatting in the Temple of the Four Winds and have decadent picnics on the lawns."
