Wightwick Manor garden
The Wightwick Manor´s 17 acre garden was designed by Alfred Parsons and Thomas Mawson. The main framework consists of large trees with an eye-catching octagonal arbour hung with clematis and roses in the centre of the rose garden. A less formal area has a pool, shrubs and rhododendrons. In addition there are two rows of yews, herbaceous borders and beds containing plants (taken!) from gardens of famous authors such as Tennyson and Dickens. The Bridge Garden accessed via the Mathematical Bridge is filled with spring bulbs. This and the peach house and rose garden have now been restored.
