High Beeches Garden
High Beeches is an exceptionally well preserved example of a landscaped woodland garden dating from the early 20th century. The woodland and water garden covers some 27 acres and is full of rare and unusual plants and trees. In spring the garden is full of colour and fragrance as a succession of daffodils, azaleas, magnolias and rhododendrons come into flower together with bluebells. In 2010 the RHS recommended High Beeches as the best garden in which to see rhododendrons growing. During June the wildflower meadow is in full flower. The meadow is considered to be the finest, acid flower meadow in Sussex and on June 18 and 19 there is a special Wildflower and Wildlife Weekend. The garden opens from 11am and experts including the county botanist, Horsham Natural History Society, ornithologists and moth and butterfly specialists will be around. In August the blue willow gentians are in full flower and High Beeches Garden is the only UK garden in which these plants ar naturalised. During autumn High Beeches has probably the best display of autumn colour in the south east. At this time of year the garden comes alive with vivid crimsons, bright yellows, oranges and a range of greens form dark emerald to vivid lime green.

(Sunday 21 Oct 12 ) High Beeches Garden closes 31 October, reopening March 2013 (Wednesday 31 Oct 12 ) Hawk Walks and Falconry Display, Breck Falconry will put on a magnificent display of the 'sport of kings', displays at 1.45 and 3.45pm. There will be a small charge for joining a hawk walk, but he main display will be included within the normal admission charge. (Saturday 21 Apr 12 ) Falconry Displays and Hawk Walks.
