Painshill Park garden


Painshill Park and its gardens is one of the most important 18th century parks in Europe. Within its 160 acres created by Charles Hamilton as a series of subtle and surprising vistas, its landscapes (The Hamilton Landscapes) include authentic 18th century plantings, working vineyard, Gothic Temple, Chinese Bridge, Crystal Grotto, Turkish Tent, newly restored Hermitage Gothic Tower and more - are a work of art that influenced the future of England´s countryside and culture. Again in 2006, American Roots, a major horticultural exhibition exploring the 18th century exchange of plants between Europe and America. The story of how American seeds changed European gardens forever.
