Dunster Castle garden
Dunster Castle has a hilltop garden, lawn and interesting rare shrub borders. Below there are formal woodland terraces and along the river, opulent sub-tropical plantings of Camellias, Rhododendrons and Azaleas. The season begins with thousands of Snowdrops and Daffodils followed by Forsythias. There is a National Collection of Arbutus along with a 150 year old lemon tree under glass. The fine views stretching across Exmoor, the Quantocks and the Bristol Channel are well worth the steep climb.
