Wollerton Old Hall is everybody´s idea of a luscious modern garden, started in 1984, planned, planted and cared for to a very high standard. A series of rooms, each with its own design and layout. Linear formality is the main theme, with careful positioning of each `room´, giving way to total informality where the garden meets the countryside of Shropshire. Visit the formal pool and rill, with a pergola for roses and clematis. There are many crossing vistas of crisp hedges leading to seats, vases or small summerhouses. Clever use of colour and bold design structure together with unrestrained planting of perennials.
