Belsay Hall garden
Belsay Hall with its vast, magnificent 30 acres of gardens are deservedly listed Grade I in the Register of Gardens and largely unaltered for over 200 years. Belsay is one of the finest examples of picturesque style in Britain with original plantings, formal terraces with shrubs, roses and perennials, together with rare and unusual plants. It is definitely a plantsman´s garden as much of the original planting survives, including magnificent magnolias, Pieris floribunda and Exochorda giraldii. The famous unique Quarry Garden, a micro-climate of ravines, corridors and pinnacles is decorated by vines and ferns with rhododendrons that flower for most of the year.
