Explore the stunning Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire

Once the playground of the Pelham Clintons, the Dukes of Newcastle, Clumber Park near Worksop is now a stunning 3,800 acre expanse of heathland, woods and farmland including a vast lake and the longest double avenue of lime trees in Europe, stretching for two miles. Several miles of walks and cycle tracks encompass the lake and it’s a popular spot for locals in need of some country air. The park’s grand house was demolished in the 1930s after years of neglect but the grand gardens bear testament to the park's aristocrat origins. There’s a gothic-style chapel to explore and a walled kitchen garden with a 450 foot glasshouse stuffed with pelargoniums, grapevines and a butia capitata palm. We love the vast variety of vegetables and fruits grown here, including the locally derived variety of celery the Clayworth Prize Pink plus many types of apple from the Nottinghamshire and East Midlands region including Sissons Worksop Newton.
