Bourton House garden

Bourton House is a modern, medium-sized but truly opulent garden made around a glorious old house, and maintained very crisply indeed. Originally planted in the 1960s by Lanning Roper. Most of the garden is formal, delineated by walls, banks and hedges. Shrubs and perennials are used generously, a raised pond, knot garden, small potager, topiary walk, trellis work and a croquet lawn show a great eye for colour. The shade-house contains novel shade-loving plants.
