The Dorothy Clive Garden

The Dorothy Clive Garden is intimate and informal. It embraces a variety of landscape features, including a superb woodland garden, an Alpine scree, Gravel Garden and many fine mixed borders. As April arrives the succession of colour, fragrance and interest increases rapidly. The Quarry Garden, a great bowl cut into the land with a ´lid´ of mature oaks on tall clean stems, is brought to life by early flowering Rhododendrons, Camellias and Pieris amongst groupings of daffodils, Erythroniums and wood anemones. The hillside is dominated by fine specimen Magnolias, cherry blossom, Forsythias and flowering currants above tulips, Fritillarias and many early season perennials.
