Situated between the South Lakeland hills and Morecambe Bay, Holker Hall and Gardens combine the beauty of nature with the richness of heritage. They are highly acclaimed and offer a richness and varity peculiar to the special micro-climate of the South Lakes, covering 24 acres of woodland and formal garden areas. The magnificent great Holker Lime, its girth measuring over seven metres at its widest, is one of Britain's 50 greatest trees. The gardens contain truly unique features, such as the cascade, labyrinth and the slate sundial, fashioned to an ancient design, and the National Collection of Styracaceae.
