Take a Stroll through Acorn Bank Garden

Acorn Bank Garden, a pretty walled garden in Temple Sowerby, near Penrith, is home to more than 200 species of herbs plus some delightful fruit orchards. A National Trust property, this is a classic English attraction with wonderful views across Eden Valley to the Lake District - all green fields, bright yellow cereal crops and grazing sheep. Take a stroll along Crowdundle Beck (look out for wildlife scuttling across your path en route) to reach the restored water mill which gives a fascinating glimpse into the industrial past of this tranquil spot – something to muse over whilst indulging in the tea room where herbs and fruit from the surrounding land are used to delicious effect.
