Biggar Park garden
Biggar Park garden is a mixture of formal and informal woodland areas, spacious lawns, and unusual trees, shrubs and rhododendrons. It is 700 ft above sea level, so somewhat susceptible to late spring frosts. In the traditional working walled garden are fine herbaceous borders, vegetables, fruit trees and a greenhouse. Shrub Roses are a special interest - there are good collections of both old and modern cultivars. The gardens also have a good collection of meconopsis (Blue Poppies). Several ornamental ponds are landscaped in to the garden.
