Newby Hall & Gardens famous double herbaceous borders, which are one of the longest in Europe, form the main axis of the garden. Off this central walk are formal compartmented gardens such as the Autumn Garden and species Rose Garden, each with splashing fountains, a Victorian Rock Garden, a Water Garden, the famous curving pergola and a Tropical Garden all filled with plants to be at their best for the different seasons of the year - truly a `Garden for all Seasons´. Newby also holds the National Collection of Cornus (dogwoods) and has a comprehensive children´s adventure garden.
