The now world famous amazing 5 acre Abbey House Gardens in the heart of ancient Malmesbury is really two gardens in one. The formal gardens have fine lawns, huge herbaceous borders, a Celtic cross knot garden and over 2000 different roses under-planted with 100,000 tulips for a breathtaking spring display. A sunken circular herb garden of raised beds is set inside an arcade of fruit trees with exotically stocked beds beside. Sloping pathways through mature trees descend to fernery, ponds, waterfall and the river gardens where hellebores, heathers and hydrangeas flourish amid specimen trees and shrubs with special and rare varieties. One of Britain´s Largest collection of plants.
