Michelham Priory Gardens

Michelham Priory´s 7 acre beautiful and tranquil gardens are set on a moated island. Originally this was an Augustine Priory. The longest water-filled medieval moat in England is home to a myriad of wildlife, while the grounds are planted with a clever mix of formal gardens and wilder, more natural areas. Kitchen, Physic, Medieval Cloister and Water Gardens are all to be explored before you take a stroll through the Orchard and around the moat walk. The ingenious planting offers an ever-changing seasonal display, from delicate meadow flowers in spring to a spectacular show of late summer herbaceous splendour.
