Rousham House garden
Rousham House garden was first designed in 1738 by William Kent and represents the initial phase of English landscape design. One of the few gardens to have escaped alteration over the years. Original features such as the ponds and cascades, statuary and eye-catchers which delighted the 18th century visitors, still attract numerous visitors today. The walled garden, herbaceous borders, pigeon house, parterre and espalier apple trees are not to be missed. Rousham remains unspoilt and uncommercial, picnic areas are available and comfortable shoes are advisable!
