Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens
Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens were established in 1765 by the First Countess of Ilchester as a kitchen garden and have developed into a 20 acre Grade I listed delight. Home to rare and exotic plants from all over the world many of them first introductions to this country. World famous for its camellia groves and magnolias, noted for its rhododendrons and hydrangea collections. With winding paths and streams, dozens of fan-palms, tender architectural perennials and succulents. The flood lighting in October is not to be missed.
