Kedleston Hall garden

Kedleston Hall´s pleasure grounds and landscaped park were laid out by the 1st Lord Scarsdale, with designs and buildings by Robert Adam. A feature is the Long Walk, which swings round to the south of the house, giving extensive views. The pleasure grounds underwent some formalisation at the end of the 19th century between 1922-4 when Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll advised. Present planting includes azaleas, rhododendrons, shrubs and species trees. There are 18th century garden buildings and monuments, including an orangery and hexagonal summerhouse. In the park there are further garden buildings, bridge and cascade, fishing room and boathouse.
