Sizergh Castle garden

Sizergh Castle´s garden has two lakes and a superb rock garden. All this is set in a 1600 acre estate crossed by public footpaths, providing short walks from the castle to dramatic viewpoints over Morecambe Bay and the Lake District fells. The gardens and grounds are particularly amazing in spring, with spring bulbs and blossom. The National Trust´s largest limestone rock garden developed in the 1920s, is housed here in which ancient maples squat amongst pools and primulas along with 4 National Collections of hardy ferns, fruit orchards, a wild flower garden and herbaceous borders.
