Cholmondeley Castle Garden

Cholmondeley Castle has extensive ornamental gardens set in idyllic parkland dominated by the romantic Gothic Castle built in 1801 of local sandstone. There is an extensive range of mainly acid-loving trees and shrubs, designed to take advantage of the spectacular views. Stroll around the beautiful Temple Water Garden, Rose Garden and many mixed breed borders. Take a lakeside walk where you will find a picnic site and children´s play area. The Tower Hill area is wilder and full of mature beech and oak trees, underplanted with magnolias and camellias to name but a few. The Castle itself is not open to the public.
