Englefield House garden

This 9 acre garden at Englefield House falls from the woodland area with magnolia, rhododendron, azalea, acer, camellia and many other species. Below are the two terraces enclosed in grey stone balustrades, built in 1860 with wide staircases, mixed borders, fountains and rill. The simple plantings of lawns, shrubs and perennials complement the working kitchen garden. Records show that a garden was made here 400 years ago. In modern times there has been a steady programme of planting with many features and areas developed to give interest all through the year. Plants for sale in garden centre, light refreshments available in nearby village stores.
