The large Wiltshire town of Swindon was previously well known as being a railway town having expanded in the 1800's following advent of rail and the siting of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's railway works in the town. Today the town has grown vastly and covers a large area, with good road a rail links to Wales and the west country and London. It has several shopping centres including the designer outlet village which is situated in the old railway works.
