The House on the Top of the Hill is a Grade II listed C17th ex-farmhouse in a truly rural and tranquil location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, South Downs National Park, West Sussex. Located on top of a hill surrounded by fields and woods with 180 degree views of the South Downs, you can see for miles. The skies on a clear night are fantastic. One mile from nearest country lane, the house is approached along tracks through woods and across fields - no noise, no roads - peace ... yet only an hour and a quarter from London. Close to beautiful old market towns of Midhurst, walking distance, and Petworth, approx 40 antique shops!!! Wonderful and tranquil walks directly from the door, through woods filled with wildlife. You can see deer, badgers, owls, buzzards. There are countless welcoming country pubs. You can walk to several. Many places of interest within easy reach. The beach is about 40 minutes. The water for the house comes from a spring, which is magic, however, for visitors, bought bottled water will be supplied for drinking. Log fires to sit in front of in winter and a grand piano to play. Feel at home.
