Strang Hall B&B is an Arts & Crafts style house, built in 1924 for a wealthy American family as their holiday home. We have since carried out a sympathetic restoration, retaining much of the original beautiful oak joinery and furniture whilst sorting out the plumbing! The house is located down an unmade country lane, 150' above Totland Bay looking West to the Dorset coast. The garden is open to guests; we have just over an acre, divided into various sections designed to encourage wildlife and make the most of the prevaling conditions. We offer 3 guest bedrooms with either double or kingsize beds. Both the Double and the Grand have panoramic sea, downland and village views and each has its own private bathroom. The Garden Suite on the ground and mezzanine floors of the 1928 wing has a double bedroom, an en-suite bath/dressing room and its own sitting room with direct access to the gardens. The guest dining room is a very calm room which overlooks the top lawn. The guest sitting room opens onto the terrace where people can relax and enjoy the sunsets in the summer or, in the winter, sit by the woodburner and enjoy the peace and quiet. I can provide for special dietary needs as long as I know in advance! Locally, the beach is 10 minutes walk away as are various guest recommended pubs and cafe/restaurants for evening meals. The Needles is about 2 miles and the ferry at Yarmouth (also good for eating out) about the same. Do ring me to discuss your stay.

| Local directions: | From Yarmouth ferry port, take the A3054 West towards Totland & the Needles. At the Totland roundabout, continue West down The Broadway. Take the second turning on the left, Kendal Road, with a hairdresser's called Focus on the corner. Drive up Kendal Road, which becomes very unmade half way along. Continue to the top of the rise where it meets the junction with Uplands Road. Turn right and drive along until you see our concrete parking pad with space for 3 cars, opposite the high grey stone walls of Strang Hall. Uplands Road is also unmade and unlit. There are pony paddocks opposite Strang Hall and next to the parking pad. |
