A quick line just to thank you both very much indeed for looking after us so well. You are both splendid hosts and you have a wonderful house.

A very quick word to thank you again for your kindness. Everything about our stay with you was pleasureable, in fact a delight. I didn’t think I would be able to manage your full English breakfast but it was so delicious that I now feel this is the only way to start the day. To be frank, this is inconvenient: I shall now have to go and find a place that sells good dried fruit and practise stewing it your way until I get it right. The fromage blanc won’t be a problem, nor will the eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms, but back bacon is hard to come by here, especially smoked – they tend to sell streaky as a rule! But how are we going to find a debonair spirit to appear behind us as if by magic with more hot toast before we even realised we need any and in passing entertain us with charming anecdotes or even show us his new kitchen toys. This, I fear, is beyond the imagination of all the B&B providers we have known before, even is they have often been friendly enough. I suppose it’s just a sort of “je ne sais quoi” that a few rare people have. We feel very lucky to have found your website and thank you again for your warm hospitality.

When the train began to move out of the station I felt a lump in my throat. I do so love England and I’m always very happy here. Your house (the atmosphere, yourselves) was a great success for both of us. Rudd felt quite at home and I felt “looked after” and “cared for”.. This combined with plenty of golf made the holiday too a success for me. (Plus of course the exceptional weather). The picnic at Godminton was a success thanks to your loan of chairs and providing us with the picnic essentials. Thank you for your understanding. This year’s holiday was better than expected so that’s a plus. A hug (I do not hug all our hosts) and thanks.

We did enjoy meeting you both a couple of weeks ago and wanted to thank you for such a fun stay. I do hope your toe is on the mend Anne and that the pain has subsided a bit. I still can’t believe you soldiered on cooking our breakfasts undeterred.

Just to thank Anne and Gavin for making us so welcome – we really did enjoy our break in that beautiful part of the country. On our way home we looked in on Sheffield Park and Wakehurst Place but our favourites have to be Great Dixter, Chartwell and Penshurst. Maria is going to try the recipe for the compote and I, will never see a red cabbage again without thinking of you both! Very many thanks.

I hope you are both well and surviving the appalling winter weather. We have so enjoyed our two holidays at Benenden in your wonderful barn that we should like to come again if we may. We do so love the blue room downstairs with the ”oh so fabulous” bathroom.

Several years ago we stayed at your B&B The Woolhouse … in fact we stayed there 2 or 3 times on our trips to the UK. At the time you, Anne, were doing picture framing and while we were staying with you, you framed a Pembroke Corgi for us which now hangs in the house of a friend of ours in Montana. When we decided to travel to the UK this year we were so glad to find that you still do B&B in your new barn conversion. It will be wonderful to see you again.

We would just like to thank you both for a fantastic weekend stay at Pullington Barn. Your hospitality was above and beyond anything we could have ever expected and it made our trip to Sussex a truly memorable one. We’d like to thank you in particular for your help with Beau (miniature whippet), without it it wouldn’t have been the same. Thank you again for such a wonderful weekend. We shall be recommending your bed & breakfast at any opportunity we can.

We had such a lovely couple of nights stay at Pullington Barn last May that we would like to repeat it this April in conjunction with my mother’s 90th birthday. This time as well as Cindy and myself, and my mother and sister, her husband would like to join us on our trip. Can you handle a crowd of 5 people?

I’m writing to thank you enormously for the huge warmth of welcome you extended to my mother and myself earlier this week. As you probably realised my mother is increasingly immobile and is very fearful and unconfident unless I am accompanying her. You couldn’t have done more to make her feel comfortable and we enjoyed ourselves so much in your beautiful home, and in a part of the country we have known and loved for half a century. Thank you both for everything.

On behalf of all our group I would like to say thank you to Gavin and Anne for looking after us so well. You made us feel as if we were at home. Thank you also for the excellent advice on where and what to visit. Saturday turned out to be a wonderful day with a food and drink festival at the Pantiles at Tunbridge Wells followed by several hours wandering around Marle Place. What a beautiful garden! I passed on your best regards to the owners Mr & Mrs Williams. Everyone agrees that we shall be returning in the (hopefully) not too distant future. Once again thank you.

We really cannot thank you enough for making us so welcome in your wonderful house. The bed was one of the most comfortable and the barn conversion one of the best we have seen. I sincerely hope we will see you both again in the not too distant future. Very many thanks indeed.

Hello lovely people in GORGEOUS Pullington Barn.. a tad late …sorry but been away for work…thank you for our fabulous one night stay last Friday… your home is amazing… quite stunning and I could have spent hours looking at all your lovely works of art and bits and pieces…it was so therapeutic staying with you albeit for such a short stay. The breakfast warrants 3 gold stars! And a big thank you for the best marmalade ever. You should market it Gavin! Take care and I hope our paths cross some other day.
