Lawn Cottage is a charming 18th century stone cottage in the middle of Stour Row near Shaftesbury in the heart of the lovely Blackmore Vale which is famous for the Thomas Hardy connection. The cottage which has a very pretty garden (vegetables in raised beds now grace the front lawn) and the interior is delightfully and comfortably furnished with antique furniture, porcelain and bright kelims and paintings. The bedroom is newly built with a very comfortable, large double bed and two armchairs and is simply but prettily decorated with toile de jouy. The huge aga kitchen is set up for breakfast which is customised to your requests. Freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade marmalade and blackcurrant jam and homemade muesli are always on the menu. Bea, the border terrier, wanders about and welcomes guests. Lawn cottage is dog friendly and welcomes children of all ages, we are also suitable for the less able guests.

Activities nearby: Walking (access to Duncliffe Wood - 250 acres of Woodland Trust with beautiful bluebell, foxgloves, primroses etc from the garden across the fields), Wonderful walks, sightseeing - June is very happy to provide itineraries for guests, gardens (including private ones) recommended. Delightful towns and villages including Shaftesbury & Sherborne and the coast is 45 mins to Studland or Lulworth Cove.
Local directions: From A30 4 miles west of Shaftesbury turn south opposite the Kings Arms Pub to Stour Row. At T junction in Stour Row 300 yards on left opposite the white house with a stone staircase on the outside. Black B&B sign will be hanging on the gate post. Please enter through the garden gate
