Lake Farmhouse is a traditional bed and breakfast where you can get away from it all and luxuriate in the surrounding peace and quiet, with rooms starting from £30 per person. We offer comfortable beds in spacious bedrooms, luxury bathrooms, a guest sitting room with inglenook fireplace for chilly evenings, free Wi-Fi, use of an outdoor heated swimming pool during the summer months, plenty of free parking and space in the stone barns for bikes and surfboards etc. We serve hearty breakfasts and optional evening meals, all freshly cooked on an AGA and ingredients are either home grown or locally sourced. Garden design courses can be arranged to suit guests, where you can create a truly individual and beautiful plan for your own garden with the help and expertise of a professional garden designer. Guests are welcome to wander around the property and see our smallholding of traditional breed chickens, lambs and pigs. Lake Farmhouse is an ideal base to explore the unspoilt areas of Devon and Cornwall, to discover picturesque villages, pubs full of character, dramatic coastlines and traditional market towns. Local directions: Leave the M5 at Exeter and join the A30 (West) to Okehampton. Leave the A30 and head into the centre of Okehampton where you make a right hand turn at Lloyds Bank into Market Street. Follow this road across the mini-roundabout and up the hill out of Okehampton until you reach the A386 where you turn right towards Hatherleigh. As you approach Hatherleigh on the A386 turn left at the roundabout onto the A3072 to Highampton. As you come up the hill into Highampton the Golden Inn and the Post Office are on your left and the A3072 bends sharply left just after these. Slow down on the bend and turn right into the road to Sheepwash. Follow the road for about a mile into Sheepwash and then continue straight through Sheepwash with the village square on your right and the village shop on your left. The turning for Lake Farm is about a mile north of Sheepwash on your left. SAT NAV WARNING: Between Sheepwash and Lake Farm, just after the vineyard on your right, there is a left turn that Sat Navs like to take. There is no through road this way, so you should ignore this instruction and carry on until you see the Lake Farm sign. At the Lake Farm sign turn left and follow the track down to the house keeping to the left at the fork in the road and then keeping left of the fence around our courtyard. Park anywhere in the courtyard in front of the house.
