Gwaenynog Farmhouse B&B

Dolanog, Dolanog, Welshpool, Powys, SY21 0LJ

Gwaenynog is a beautiful farmhouse in a quiet and scenic location, about 1 mile from the River Vyrnwy. Surrounded by 16 acres of land - a mixture of fields, woods and wetland; there’s a lot of wildlife and flora, plus a variety of birds.

There are extremely comfortable beds, powerful showers, generous towels, shower gels and shampoos, a choice of teas and coffee in all the rooms and fresh milk, flat screen TV’s with Freeview & DVD players, and free wifi; all with varying views from every window.

Bordered by ancient woodland and hedgerows that offer seclusion, the B&B and campsite offer some wonderful views. You can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet that is synonymous with Gwaenynog.

Quiet country lanes, ideal for walking or cycling, can join up with marked walks such as Glyndwr’s Way or Ann Griffiths walk (a mile away); or utilise other public footpaths and bridleways that cross the surrounding farmland. Or walk to the local pub (2.5m).

Great hosts, first class rooms, superb food, excellent location with fabulous views. This was our 4th visit and we love the place. Nothing is too much trouble - Fiona and Norman will do everything to make your stay perfect. Looking forward to returning in September.

The service I received was very welcome and friendly. The B&B itself was lovely and the surroundings were stunning, out in the 'dreamy' welsh countryside. This place has everything for a relaxing and peaceful getaway.

Review of Gwaenynog Farmhouse

Posted on by Brian MCustomer stayed Aug 2012

We recently stayed here for 3 days and were very pleased. The location is superb as was the farmhouse. The bedroom was lovely, nicely decorated, great shower. This is a great spot for birdlife, sitting at the breakfast table, we saw loads of birds on the bird feeders, it was interesting to see a woodpecker feeding from the nut holder every morning. Plenty of good walks around, great views. The hosts were lovely friendly people and they gave us a really good cooked breakfast, we will definately visit again.

Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to put this review here. It helps us to know how we're doing.

Glad to hear you enjoyed watching the birds whilst eating our breakfasts. They have proved quite a draw for guests, even those who don't usually.

So, we hope to see you again - and Dougal is welcome anytime too! Beau & Bonnie certainly enjoyed playing with him...
