The Close B&B

Well Hill, Minchinhampton, Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL6 9JE

Make your way inside The Close, a Queen Anne townhouse B&B in the heart of the Cotswolds town of Minchinhampton, and you’ll see an elegant entrance hall with period details all around, a grandfather clock ticking and a Georgian oak staircase leading up to the bedrooms. Tea and coffee is offered in the drawing room overlooking the garden after which you get to float upstairs to discover the Turquoise Suite (double bedroom with king-size bed plus adjoining sitting room) or the Red or Green Bedrooms with gorgeous rooftop views across a conservation area - all rooms have en-suite bathrooms. Superb character property. We had an extremely large and comfortable double room and there was a gigantic peaceful garden. Host couldn't be more helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Breakfast was fit for a king. Had everything you could wish for in a first rate B&B. Just can't fathom why it only has 4* Silver rating. Definitely deserves a 5* Gold.

The building is beautiful, as is the garden. The house is very well kept and tastefully furnished in keeping with the period of the house. Our bedroom and bathroom was generously proportioned and comfortable. Lovely breakfasts.

Extremely helpful & friendly owner Karen Champney. Beautiful historic building with lovely gardens in an exceptionally pretty, small, Cotswold town. The Rooms and facilities were spotless, spacious, light, quiet extremely well equipped for the comfort of guests. An exceptional B&B and very reasonably priced.

The Close is a lovely old house in a beautiful setting. The rooms are very spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Best of all is the host who prepares great breakfasts and is exceptionally friendly and helpful.

A fabulous place to stay. Clean, comfortable, and spacious room in a stunning English townhouse. Best of all was our host Karen. Always on hand if we needed something, whatever it was, but just as happy to leave us to our own devices as we wished. She was a mine of information about walks to take and places to stay. It was also superb value. We would have no hesitation staying again if we were ever to return to the Cotswolds.

Warm welcome tea biscuits in garden with our hostess. Large period town house, spacious rooms, cotton sheets, feather filled pillows and 6 post bed - just like home. Quaint, quiet village. Excellent restaurant short drive away. Red bedroom spotlessly clean, with books, magazines, variety of teas.

Your own beautiful 1710 Queen Anne home. As the owner lives in a separate apartment, you have full run of this magnificent home, with beautiful living room for tea and elegant dining room for the delicious breakfast. The bedroom is large and comfortable with great bed.

The devil is in the details, and Karen has them all worked out in her 17th C manse and gardens. The beds, baths and decor exude old world class together with modern day comforts. First class comfort and service at a moderate price. Fabulous breakfast.
