Review of Caradoc Court
Posted on by NicholasType of travel: Couples
On our approach up the driveway I could not believe that we would have the privilege of staying in such a magnificent property as this. Set amongst specimen trees and well manicured gardens the Jacobean mansion over looks the river Wye. Upon our arrival we were given a warm welcome by John and Kathy in the great hall, complete with galleried landing and tapastries hanging from the wall. I was quite astounded as it felt as if we were staying in a property belonging to the National Trust such was the age and period features of the house and surprisingly for a home so large it was remarkably warm, not the cold draughty place you would expect! The interior has been sympathetically renovated with the room we were staying in still retaining it's original charm. Although just outside Ross on Wye there is a pub that serves very good food at at the end of the drive, not too far to walk back after an evening meal. A place that we will definitely return to again.
