Owl & Monkey Haven: Gold Award Winners - Best Small Attraction of the Beautiful South Awards for Excellence 2011. The Islands newest multi-award winning sanctuary is home to a diverse collection of rescued primates and birds of prey. The tranquil environment and immaculate grounds, coupled with our playful primates and ostentatious owls make a visit to the Haven a truly memorable experience. Noisy lar gibbons, tiny marmosets, cheeky macaques and majestic colobus monkeys are among our diverse collection of rescued primates. Cared for at the park are three different species of gibbon alone, most notably two loveable Siamangs named Bog and Xhabu! Daily 'monkey feeds' allow visitors to gain an insight into our animals' individual personalities and histories. Many species of owl can be seen, including the snowy owl of Harry Potter fame, the tiny Australian boobook, and two friendly hand-reared owls who enjoy coming out of their aviaries to meet their visitors!
