Jersey War Tunnels

The German Underground Hospital, also known as the Jersey War Tunnels, was built between 1941 and 1944. Originally built as shelters for German forces it later became a hospital that could house up to 1000 patients in an emergency. It is now a museum that tells the story of the German occupation and how it affected the lives of the islanders.
